Commuting Patterns

Approximately 11,938 people commute into the county for employment, and 27,084 commute out of the county.
The direct access to Fauquier provided by several major highways, including Interstate 66 and Route 29, allow a reverse-commute for in-county commuters.

 

Education and Training

In addition to Lord Fairfax Community College, located in Fauquier, residents have access to two other community colleges, five colleges and universities, and training facilities such as ECPI. Nearby colleges and universities include George Mason University, George Washington University, Mary Washington University, University of Virginia, and Christendom College.
