Fauquier County has three registered towns, including The Plains in the northern part of the County, Remington in southern Fauquier, and Warrenton, the county seat, located in the central part of the County.

In addition to its towns, Fauquier is made up of small communities we refer to as villages. The nature of the County and its towns and villages, places where families have lived for generations, where it seems everyone knows one another, and people look each other in the eye and speak in passing.

Removed just far enough from the city to allow community members to enjoy the many benefits of small town living, remaining on the fringe of a large metropolitan area with many benefits of its own.
