Fauquier County puts a premium on the welfare of its citizens. Public services, such as fire and rescue, have been extensively developed and coordinated to provide an efficient, reliable system that’s ready to respond in times of need.
- Emergency 911 system.
- Law enforcement consists of over 80 officers in the Sheriff’s Office. Additional officers are employed by the Town of Warrenton, and several state police officers are assigned to the area.
- Fire protection is provided by approximately 340 volunteers in 11 companies throughout the County, with 70 salaried firefighters/paramedics in the Emergency Services Department.
Parks and Recreation
The Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life for all people in Fauquier County. Working in a partnership with the people, the department provides the leadership to assure that citizens receive high quality recreational facilities and services, and assures the preservation of local history.
Fauquier County currently has three library branches, with locations in Warrenton (main branch), Bealeton, and Marshall. Construction planning is underway for a New Baltimore branch, which is expected to be completed in 2016.
